I am interested in exploring the mechanisms of thought, with a particular focus on how the structure of intelligence can inform and improve artificial systems that instruct, supplement, or collaborate with human users.
My work seeks to bridge the gap between neuroscience and AI by using brain imaging data to explore the high level frameworks of cognition proposed by computer science based architectural models. By expanding on current theoretical accounts of human thought processes, like the Common Model of Cognition, I hope to incorporate insights from the human brain into platforms for general purpose artificial intelligence that more closely resembles our own.
